Tunisia, Algeria agree to work to increase charter flights

(TAP) - Minister of Tourism Mohamed Moez Belhassine and his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Yassine, on Thursday, agreed to work to increase charter flights between the two countries to facilitate the movement of travelers from different airports.

According to a statement from the Tourism Ministry, the two ministers have also agreed to open a shipping line between the two countries to encourage cruise tourism from the port of La Goulette.

The two ministers discussed ways to boost bilateral co-operation in the field of tourism and crafts, through the implementation of joint projects in the field of hotel training and tourism.

They also considered strengthening land co-operation through signing an agreement between the Tunisian Tourist Land Agency (AFT) and the Algerian Land Agency which has just been created.

On the sidelines of their meeting held on the participation of the Minister of Health in the 116th edition of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organisation held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the two ministers reviewed the legislative framework that will encourage investment in tourism, as well as its diversification.
